Lead-gen sites sell the same enquiry to five of you and let the cheapest win. We don't. The enquiries you see are tied to your postcode, your trade, and your stated working hours. You decide whether to accept, quote, or pass.

You don't pay to be visible, and you don't pay per lead. Customers pay you directly, by your preferred method, on your terms. Founding-cohort trades pay £19/month from public launch and keep that rate for as long as the founder programme runs.
Customers find you by how close you are to their postcode. We don't auction the same job to five trades and let the cheapest win. If a customer requests a slot, you're the one they're asking, not a list. You quote properly, or you pass.
Reviews come from real bookings on Loacally and stay attached to your profile. Your customer relationships are yours, not ours. If you leave the platform one day, you take your contacts and your reputation with you. Your reputation travels with you. Always.
03 · How listing works
We aim to have you live and taking enquiries within 48 hours of applying. We review every application by hand.
Your name, trade, mobile, postcode area, public liability insurer and certifications. That's the whole form. No CV, no portfolio upload, no marketing waffle.
We check your identity, ring you, and confirm your insurance and certifications. Electricians need NICEIC, NAPIT or equivalent. We aim to come back within 48 hours of receiving your application.
Pick the services you offer, set a from-price and what's included, choose your working hours, connect your calendar. We're around on chat to help you write it well.
Customers see you in their postcode-sorted search. They send a job, you accept or pass, you message inside the platform, you agree a visit and get paid directly. No middleman, no auction.

We're heads-down building the platform London trades actually want. We don't want pricing to be the obstacle while we do that. Founding-cohort trades pay nothing while we build, get the founder rate at launch, and keep it.
Founders get 90 days' written notice on any pricing change, ever. No retroactive charges on jobs already booked.
Free for every founding trade through public launch. After launch, founders pay £19/month and keep that rate for as long as the founder programme runs. Capped at 100 founding trades across our first 10 boroughs.

We're capping the founding cohort at 100 trades across our first ten boroughs. Smaller than a launch, larger than a pilot. You get the founder rate at launch, the founder badge, monthly check-ins with the team, early access to new features, and a real seat in the room when we decide what to build next.
07 · The questions you'd actually ask

None of the usual ones. Founding-cohort trades pay £0 during the pilot, then £19/month from public launch, and keep that rate for as long as the founder programme runs. If we ever change how Loacally is priced, you get 90 days' written notice and a fair transition. No retroactive charges on jobs already booked, ever.
The reason it works for us: a flat monthly fee on a few hundred founder trades pays the bills while we build, and the cohort is small enough that we can talk to all of you personally. We get a network of trades we actually know, you get pricing protection.
One customer, one trade, per enquiry. Customers see a sorted list of locals in their postcode and send an enquiry to whoever they want. The same job is never auctioned out to a list of five of you, and we don't sell the same lead twice.
You get the enquiry as a push notification, email, and a row inside your Loacally dashboard. You can accept, propose a different slot, or pass. Passing is free and has no ranking penalty.
Directly by the customer, by your preferred method. Loacally never holds the money and never processes a payment. Most trades take a deposit when they accept and the balance on completion. Bank transfer, card, cash, whatever you usually do.
The trade-off is no built-in payment protection at this stage. We're upfront about that. Escrow-style payments are on the roadmap as a future opt-in feature.
Flag it inside the visit thread and a real person on our team will look at it that working day. Where the dispute is clear-cut, we'll act on the customer's account. Where it isn't, we'll mediate and try to settle it. We won't ghost you.
We also have a clear cancellation and no-show policy that's enforced platform-side, so customers know there are real consequences for messing trades around.
Yes. You can invite past customers to leave a verified review through a short link we generate. Each review is tied to a confirmed job, so it shows on your profile as a real piece of work, not a third-party import.
Your contacts stay yours. We don't sell them, we don't market to them, and if you leave the platform you can export your list and take it with you.
Photo ID (driving licence or passport), proof of address, proof of public liability insurance (£2m minimum), and your trade-specific certifications where relevant. Electricians need NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA or equivalent. Gas engineers will need Gas Safe registration when we add that trade.
You don't need a website, a portfolio, or a registered limited company. Sole traders welcome. Vans optional.
Switch on holiday mode and your listing pauses with no charge. Or narrow your services and postcodes to just the jobs you'd actually take next. Plenty of founders use Loacally as a top-up: the diary's already full, but the cancellation slots fill faster.
