Finding a good local tradesperson is still mostly luck.
London has the trades. Most postcodes have more good plumbers, electricians, decorators and tilers within a mile of you than you could ever need. The problem isn’t supply. It’s that the way we find them is still pieced together out of WhatsApp groups, Google ads and the kindness of next-door neighbours. Three small observations behind why we built this.

The good ones aren’t marketed. They’re recommended.
Most of the best tradespeople in any given postcode are busy, low-profile and discovered by word of mouth. National directories rank by ad spend, not by how often someone’s neighbour mentioned them. Whoever you find first is usually whoever paid most to be found.

Quotes take longer than the job.
Three calls, two visits, a week of voicemails, several different prices for the same piece of work. By the time the cooker’s mended you’ve lived without it for a fortnight, and the deciding factor was rarely the price anyway.

Distance disappears once you’re a lead.
Lead-gen platforms sell your job to whoever bid for it, which is rarely the closest person. So you get a brilliant electrician from forty minutes away, a callout fee that reflects the journey, and a sense that the platform isn’t quite on your side.
How we got here.
A short note on what we’re building, why London first, and why we’re starting with a focused set of trades.
Loacally started in a London kitchen, in 2025, with a leak under the sink and a quote that took eleven days to arrive.
The plumber on the same street, it turned out, could have come round on the Tuesday. Nobody on either side of the door knew the other was there. We thought the problem was finding a tradesperson. It wasn’t. The problem was finding a local one.
London already has the supply. What it doesn’t have is a calm, neutral place to see who’s nearby, what they charge and when they’re free. So we built one. London first. A focused set of everyday trades to start. Built for your street.
